How to get to Sapa

On this page, I would like to give you some suggestions to arrange your trip to Sapa from Ha Noi.

Basically, you may need (1) train tickets from/to Ha Noi to Lao Cai, (2) transfer from/to Lao Cai Railways Station to Sapa (Sharing Bus or Car) and (3) accommodation in Sapa.

Train tickets

Because of the horrible road condition from Ha Noi to Lao Cai, therefore trains are the best choice for travelling to Sapa. My recommendation is to travel by night train on a comfortable soft sleeper cabin of Livitrans Train. There are 2 options of 2 persons in a cabin at $70 for 1 person or 4 persons in a cabin at $30 for 1 person.

Accommodation in Sapa

There will be a variety choice for your staying in Sapa.
