Mountainous Cultural Markets are well known by many travelers as a "specialty" of a tour to the North of Vietnam, a cultural characteristic of ethnic minority peoples. Each market is a living museum of cultural and community activities, where contains plenty of ethnic culture with unique customs and regional traditions.
They are still reserving the identity of the mountainous markets, still original mixed with pure innocent travelers. There is no common language here; each tribe uses its own language. On plastic sheets spread right down to the market, it's laid out for something wild: a few bottles of forest honey, some agricultural products, small working tools ... The buzz exchanges, bargain, selling and buying on their own ways making tourists bewildered.


Bac Ha on Sunday

Waken up by the footsteps of people walking to the market, and you will be more surprised to enter the market. The whole market looks colorful like flowers. It is getting bigger and bigger, more and more colorful and special when seeing people taking along pigs, cats, buffaloes, horses for sales. Muong Khuong Market
Big market with a wide range of ethnic groups: Hmong, Dao, Nung, and merchants from other ethnic groups who come all the way from China to sell their products. Several Pa Zi women sell traditional incense made from the bark and resin of scented trees. Ref: SPT-M7
Lung Phin market
This small market is between Can Can market and Bac Ha town, about 12km from the town. It's less busy than other markets, and is open on Sunday. Ref: SPT-M8
